Pizza & Politics

When: October 9th, 6:00-8:00 pm

What: Young voters are crucial and with Election Day coming soon we will be hosting Pizza and Politics, a youth political forum where our audience can interact with politicians serving their local areas. The goals of the event are to (1) encourage youth and teen civic engagement, (2) make politics more accessible to youth, and (3) provide the youth and teens an opportunity with a platform to interact with politicians. What about the pizza you ask? Follow us on our Instagram page to see what we’re cooking up. This bi-annual event is jointly coordinated by the Youth and Teen Commissions of Cupertino, Campbell, and Saratoga.

Voter Registration & Pre-Registration

When: October 17, 3:00-5:00 pm

Where: Outside the Campbell Library

What: Are you prepared to vote this November? If not, there is still time! Come down to the Campbell Library on Saturday, October 17th from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and the Campbell Youth Commission will assist anyone with the online voter registration process! 16 year olds can even pre-register! Goodies will be given to anyone registering or pre-registering with us on the 17th. Remember, the deadline is October 19th so take advantage of one of your last opportunities to make your voice heard this coming election!

#TeensSavingEarth Challenge

When: November 8-15

Where: Everywhere & Instagram

What: Campbell Youth Commission is hosting a #teenssavingearth challenge! The challenge kicks off with a live stream on Instagram with @campbellyouthcommission - to participate, simply film a short video that indicates a sustainable habit you are taking up and post it on your story or feed, tagging @campbellyouthcommission and using #teenssavingearth. We will give out 1 hour of community service for each video submitted as well as enter your name into a drawing for a Starbucks gift card!

Immigration Speaker Series

What: The Campbell Youth Commission is proud to host the Immigration Reform Speaker Series! This event will be held over zoom featuring three speakers from California Immigration Policy Center. The speakers will discuss immigration reform and rights as well as their organization and individual areas of expertise. This includes government advocacy, detention and deportation in the wake of COVID, and health access for all Californians. We hope to see you on November 13th at 4:30 pm learning about these important topics with us!

College Essay Writing Workshop

What: Need help touching up those college essays? Come to the College Essay Review Workshop to receive help and feedback on your essays from teachers on November 11, anytime between 5-7 pm. 

Thanksgiving Craft Box

When: November 21, 10:00 am

What: Enjoy some fall fun with the Campbell Youth Commission's Thanksgiving Craft Box! Your box will include supplies for 3 fall crafts, 1 hot chocolate packet, 1 bingo card, 1 color-in place mat, and other surprises! Participants will get the opportunity to join a zoom call on Saturday, Nov 21st to make crafts together virtually, play a few rounds of bingo, and drink their hot chocolate while listening to a fall story! Be Kind To Your Mind

What: The Campbell Youth Commission is proud to host: Be Kind To Your Mind, a mental health awareness seminar.  We have two experts who want to share their unique advice on topics like self-care (especially in relation to stress) and the best ways to help yourself and others cope when struggling. This event will be streamed on the City of Campbell’s YouTube on Sunday, December 6th, from 3:00-4:00 pm. See you there!

Holiday Trivia Night

What: The Campbell Youth Commission has planned a holiday-themed Trivia Night for you! Compete against others to see who the Winter-Holiday-Champion is! Winter Wonderland Craft Box

Women's March Poster Making

What: In honor of the Women’s March, which typically occurs in January, the Campbell Youth Commission encourages you to make a poster for women’s rights and gender equality! Even though we can’t show our support in person, we can still put signs in our yards, our windows, our rooms, and other places! Make it a family event, invite friends to make posters together, or attend our Virtual Poster Making Event on January 14th, where we’ll provide design ideas and discuss topics related to women’s rights.

Love Bugs Craft Box

When: February 13, 10:00-11:30 am

What: Get festive from home with Campbell Youth Commission's Love Bug Craft Box! Your kit will include supplies for 4 crafts, 1 hot chocolate packet, game print outs, 1 color-in poster, and other surprises! Participants will get the opportunity to join a zoom call on Saturday, Feb 13th to make crafts together, play games, and drink their hot chocolate while listening to a story! If you are unable to make the zoom call, instructions on how to complete the crafts will be included as well. Boxes must be picked up from the Campbell Community Center on Feb 12th from 2:00-4:00 pm. This event is intended for kids 4-10 years old.
